At BLR, questions drive progress and progress drives questions

The quality of a great leader is their ability to ask great questions. As a leader, you have to know how to find the answers. The only way to do that is to ask the right questions. Without a question – there are no answers. Without answers, there is no progress. Think about what questions would your customers ask of your business, either direct, open or dumb questions.

“We lead this company with questions – not answers.” -  Greg Schmidt, former CEO of Google

“As you become a leader, you shift from knowing the right answers to asking the right questions.” - Harry Kramer, former CEO of Baxter International

Prowess of a subject is often shown not in how a leader can field questions on a topic, but more importantly, the types of questions the leader asks. True leaders, by definition, don’t need to be the subject matter expert. If they are, then they are probably not doing a very good job leading. Instead, true leaders lead by asking the right questions.

Quite often, executives must bone up on a topic prior to an important event. They don’t have the time to find a book that could end up being a long read, nor the time to browse through hundreds of web sites to obtain the few key pearls of wisdom that could make them shine in front of their managers, peers or customers.

We examine what organizations are doing to stay relevant and competitive in this fast-paced world, and which ones are doing it best. We then compile these into learning experiences for our clients in a variety of delivery formats at the client or cohort level, either live, on-line or blended.

BLR provides a knowledge base representing the nuts and bolts of popular topics that an innovative leader needs to know. They are concise, specific and to the point and do not include filler material that you often find in learning. Altogether, you will find our learning to be rich with content, with a focus on the understanding of fundamentals.

We can tailor executive education, learning programs and workshops for your particular needs. Our learning stresses the understanding of principles and how to apply that understanding to a variety of scenarios. Our Leadership Labs are designed to develop managers into masters of their field.  Attendees receive a certification recognizing their achievement, which they can use towards career advancement.

Our guiding principles

Focus on Fundamentals

It is our view that understanding fundamental concepts is the most essential aspect of commanding a subject – the rest is detail.

Maximum Learning in Minimum Time

Our programs are designed to maximize learning in the minimum amount a time, a challenge which today’s modern executives face almost every day. Our training is agnostic, unbiased and vendor neutral – we don’t try to sell the products and services of others to you.

Clear and Concise

Our content is founded on principals that are acquired through practice and experience. We’ve encountered many people who claim that they are so called “experts” in a particular area, and who try to demonstrate that by throwing a lot of terminology around that they cannot eventually explain.

“If a person cannot clearly explain something, it makes one wonder if they understand the topic themselves.” – Albert Einstein
